The Ernesto property is located in the southern portion of the Santa Elina Gold Belt, approximately 65 km south of São Francisco. Gold mineralization is associated with low angle shear zones at the contact of metasediments with the underlying granite basement.

Ernesto and Pau a Pique are located in the Guapore Gold Belt, just south of São Francisco.  In 2005 Yamana began exploration in both areas with surface geological mapping and sampling.  Pre-feasibility study scheduled for 2008 for Pau a Pique.
